Trim Healthy Mama: Week One Meal Plan

If you’re new here, feel free to read that post -it’ll explain some of the Trim Healthy Mama plan and part of my personal story!

Last month I listed my health and fitness goals for May…let me catch you up on that.
-Lose 15 pounds 
While I didn’t lose a full fifteen, I am half a pound away from my next weight goal!
-Stay on plan the entire month (no cheats.)
I’m sad to say I didn’t stick with it 100%. My sister-in-law got married, we hosted out-of-town guests, I failed to prepare. Next month I’m going to meal prep meal prep meal prep!
-Meet my daily step goal (10,000 steps.)
I actually did pretty good at this one! While I didn’t win any of the weekly step challenges, I usually placed second or third.
-Join the YMCA
Done! Husband and I are enjoying the pool, basketball, and racquetball!
-Start a swim/run routine five days a week.
Because of husband’s work schedule, we haven’t quite settled on a routine yet, but we’re getting there.

Now for my June goals! I love the first day of every month. A fresh beginning, or as Anne of Green Gables said, “A new day with no mistakes in it.”
The night before, I sit down in a quiet room and write down my plans, appointments, and goals for the month. I’ll pray over them and go to sleep with the excitement that a new time brings.

June goals:
-Wake up at 7 every day.
-Work out at the Y five days a week.
-Stay on plan all month long.
-Drink one sipper every day.
-Stay hydrated!!
-Lose fifteen more pounds.
Unless something crazy happens, June probably won’t be the month I hit my ultimate goal weight…but hopefully I’ll be pretty close!

Last month showed me that I need to be proactive and ready to resist temptation if (and when) it rears its ugly head. A few of my “no-cheat helpers” are listed below.
-Meal prep every Monday. That means have every single breakfast and lunch baked, blended, and bagged.
-Always have a treat prepared. My husband and I have this ridiculous addiction to ice cream sandwiches. We’ve been doing a lot better lately, but there are certainly times where we buy a box and eat two a night! I’m going to buy a few pints of Halo Top ice cream to keep on hand during those hard-to-resist moments.
-Ask my husband to keep me accountable. I may hate it sometimes, but when I ask him to stop me from eating unhealthy treats, he WILL say something about it when I try. He’s a good dude.

The May meal plan I put together was incredibly successful, so I’m creating one for June. Planning the entire month in one day was a little overwhelming, so this time around I’ll post weekly plans instead. 🙂

I haven’t tried most of the linked recipes yet, so it’ll be interesting to see how those turn out! Yay for trying new things!
